We’ve kept Buhari under house arrest in London – Omokri

A former aide of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, says protesters have put President Muhammadu Buhari under house arrest in London.

Buhari is currently in London for a medical check-up. Since the president got to the UK last week, there has been an outrage both in Nigeria and abroad.

While critics have complained about his departure which coincided with the strike by resident doctors, protesters have laid siege to the Abuja House, Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in London, where the president usually stays during his visit to UK.

Omokri is one of the leaders of the protest.

In a tweet on Monday, Omokri said, “I am still in London keeping ‪@MBuhari‬ under house arrest. He does not have a certificate. He does not have empathy. He does not have shame. He does not have a conscience. He does not have integrity. But he wants UK doctors.

“Join me to ‪#HarassBuhariOutofLondon‬. 2 Campden Hill, W8 7AD.”

Omokri later said someone suspected to be Buhari was seen peeping at the protesters who were right in front of Abuja House.

He claimed the president has been held captive inside the house and has been unable to see his doctors.
