Technical Adviser Stanley Eguma insists the ‘Pride of Rivers’ will not underestimate the potential of being on the losing end at Dakkada on Sunday.
Rivers United head to the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on the back of a hard earned 1-0 win against Sunshine Stars last weekend, which moved them closer to the Nigeria Professional Football League top four.
Eguma, though, will be taking nothing for granted against the Uyo based side, who have been very impressive in the last two seasons and are currently placed 8th on the NPFL table with 26 points from 18 matches.
“We are working seriously to ensure that we get a good result against Dakkada”, Eguma said
“A lot of people will see Dakkada and underrate them but we are aware that since last season they have proven to be a very strong side and we are not handling them with kid gloves. It will be a very tough match considering the rivalry between the two states so we are working very hard to ensure we get some points from the game.”
