Why I didn’t take covid-19 vaccine publicly – Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike says he has received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

He made this revelation on Saturday, March 27, when he received a delegation of the technical team from the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 led by the national manager, Mukhtar Muhammad at the Government House, Port Harcourt.

In a statement disclaiming speculations of his refusal to take the vaccine, he revealed that he took the decision to take the vaccine quietly because he did not want the exercise to look extraordinary just as his colleagues have been doing.

In his words, he said: “yes, I can pretend that I have taken the vaccine and they’ll put in the media that I have taken it but I do not like to play politics in everything, so let them not tell you that, I did my own quietly in the clinic here, so I don’t need to begin to announce to the world…”

He further stressed that he could have pretended that he had not taken the vaccine and the media would still announce that he has but he did not go that way.
