Dolphins Football Academy played out a one-all draw against SKE FC in the ongoing Nationwide League one pre-season tournament in Port Harcourt.
The game was decided at the Joseph Yobo mini stadium at D/ Line, Port Harcourt.
The maiden Nationwide League one pre-season competition is a tournament put together by the four amateur clubs in Rivers State to prepare themselves for the forthcoming NLO zonal championship in Calabar.
The four clubs are Willbros FC, SKE FC, Benedi United and Dolphins Football Academy.
The coach of SKE FC of Port Harcourt Franklin Moghalu said he will work on lapses displayed by his team during the match.
He said his players were under pressure to perform and assured of a better performance in their next outing.
Speaking to our correspondent, the Media Officer of SKE FC Oham Precious said the pre-season tournament is a good avenue for the team to test their level of readiness for the National League one play-offs.
Oham Precious said the tournament will enable newly signed players of SKE FC to bond with the team ahead of the NLO zonal competition in Calabar.
He said the aim of SKE FC is to get a promotion to the Nigeria Nationwide League NNL.
The SKE FC Media Officer said getting a promotion to the NNL will give Rivers people another alternative in the football league besides Rivers United and Go Round FC.
He also called for more support from the Rivers State Government by building mini stadiums for amateur sides in the state.
Oham Precious noted that building enough mini stadia will encourage football development in the state.
He, however, appealed to the Rivers State Football Association to distribute the FIFA covid-19 palliatives to enable the amateur teams to prepare for the NLO zonal competition.
SKE FC will welcome visiting Benedi United on Friday at Joseph Yobo Mini Stadium, Igbokwu Pitch D/Line.
