NPFL: Katsina United down Rivers United

Katsina United defeated Rivers United of Port Harcourt two one in matchday eight of the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL.

The game was played at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina on Thursday.
Defeat for Rivers United means Enyimba will sit comfortably at the top of the league table with 18 points from 8 matches.
Rivers United is now sitting in the second position of the NPFL table with 15 points from 8 matches.
In the meantime, the Technical Adviser of Rivers United Stanley Eguma has attributed fatigue to the poor away results of the team.

Eguma while addressing newsmen said the technical crew of the team is reshuffling the players for them to get enough rest.

He said the difficult transport logistics in Nigeria due to bad roads and insecurity is affecting the well being of the players.

The tactician noted that they will continue to manage the situation as they continue hostilities in the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL and the CAF Confederation Cup competition.

The ‘Pride of Rivers’ will next face Nasarawa United at the Adokiye Amaesimaka Stadium Port Harcourt on Sunday 7th February 2021 in matchday 9 of the NPFL.
In another NPFL game played on Thursday between Heartland of Owerri and Ifeanyi Ubah of Nnewi ended in a one-all draw.
