A youth activist, Charles Jaja, has criticized stakeholders in Rivers State for failing to speak out against some of the actions of Governor Nyesom Wike.

Charle Jaja who was reacting to the five hundred million naira given to the Sokoto State government after one of the markets was gutted by fire, said an attempt by previous Governors in the state to use state funds for political games has not worked.

Wike had during a visit to Sokoto on Wednesday pledged the amount for rebuilding the burnt down market.

However, throngs of criticisms have followed the donation by Rivers people who say that there are more pressing issues at home to tackle with the money.

“It is most unfortunate and most regrettable that we have not learnt our lessons, we saw a former sitting governor roll out money to Northerners before now in order to get something out of it but yet nothing came out of it and yet we have continued in this path.

“A state that has failed to fulfil their duty to pensioners and the pensioners are dying in their numbers on a daily basis, and then we have a sitting governor who goes in the same path rolling out Rivers money to Sokoto state in the name of what? And yet we feel it is normal, it is the most regrettable and the greatest disservice to the great people of Rivers State”.
