APC threatens to drag Rivers high Court judges to NJC

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State says it would drag politically exposed judges used by Governor Nyesom Wike to undermine the advancement of democracy in the state to the National Judicial Commission, NJC.

Isaac Ogbobula, the factional Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party gave the warning at a media briefing in Port Harcourt on Sunday.

Ogbobula disclosed that the APC has obtained credible information that a judge of the Port Harcourt High Court would be used today, Monday 21st December, 2020, by some discredited politicians who are working with Governor Wike to truncate the activities of the Caretaker Committee.

The factional APC Caretaker Chairman who claimed to have been sworn in by the National Secretariat of the party after all party structures were scrapped by NEC swore that it would not be business as usual.

He noted that some judges including Justice George Omereji,
Justice Chinwendu and Justice Fiberesima have been allegedly used in the past to destabilize the APC in Rivers State.

Ogbobula also hinted that while younger magistrates have been promoted above their seniors, Justice Omereji has been purportedly rewarded for his alleged roles in favour of the Wike administration with an appointment as the Chairman of the State Independent Electoral Commission.

The APC added that in pursuit of his ambition to manipulate Justices of the State and Federal High Courts, Governor Wike doled out the sum of N150 million to each of the judges under the guise of providing them with accommodation.
