Tension has heightened in Port Harcourt following clashes between police and irate youths who demanded to be allowed to protest at the city centre.
Gunshots by the police rented the air between Ikoku to Mile 3 as the protesters surged towards police formations.
Offices at Rumuola and other axis were shut while shops closed with residents scampering for safety.
