Video: Thugs break inmates out of Benin prison

Thugs have invaded and broken the walls of the headquarters of the Nigeria Correctional Centre, Nigeria prisons in Benin, Edo State capital, and freed inmates.

It was gathered that armed prison officials engaged the thugs in gunfire which resulted in some persons sustaining injuries.

They also destroyed and vandalized High Court 4 which is beside.

The hoodlums started gathering along Sapele Road beside the prison as early as 7 am setting bonfires and sending back road users.

They launched their attack when their number had swelled considerably, broke a part of the wall while some climbed the fence into the prison yard.
