Nollywood actress dragged for joining #EndSARS protest when her mother is part of the system

Florence Uwaeme

Nigerian actor cum producer, Lilian Afegbai has been dragged by angry Nigerians who are pissed with her involvement in the #EndSARS protests going on in different parts of Nigeria.

The actress cum producer has been a regular participant at the On-going #EndSARS protest in Lagos state.

Angry Nigerians have come at her on Twitter, calling her a hypocrite for not producing her mother who was said to have been a brutal Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Benin in 2013.

Her mother, Carol Onyeka Afegbai, reportedly shot and killed one Ibrahim Momodu, a final year student of the University of Benin in 2013, and buried him without his family’s consent. She is said to have branded the young undergraduate an armed robber and cut his life short.

Most of the angry Nigerian youths on Twitter have asked her to provide her mum because she is part of the corrupt system that they are seeking to change. She has been instructed to ensure her mother is prosecuted for her numerous crimes before coming out to join the protest.

The actress has since limited access to her comment section on all her social media platforms.

Recall that Nigerian youths have been on protest for the past ten days demanding an end to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad SARS and to also bring an end to police brutality in general.
