Obiano sacks former Awkuzu SARS boss as SA following outcry, protests

Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has said that the former Officer Commanding of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS in Awkuzu, Mr. James Nwafor will be relieved of his political appointment and recommended for immediate prosecution, likewise other SARS officials that abused their offices.

Governor Obiano who was speaking earlier today, Thursday while addressing the #ENDSARS protesters at the Government House, Awka said that effective tomorrow, all illegal detainees in various SARS formations in the state will be released, while officers found wanting will be prosecuted.

He addressed other issues raised by the protesters asking them to open up the expressway which has been blocked.

Zubby Michael, Slow Dogg, Bob Manuel Udokwu, among others were on the ground during the protest.

Nwafor has been accused of supervising the killing of over 2000 youths and dumping their remains in rivers across the state while he held sway as commander of the deadly SARS unit in the state.
