Akwa Ibom to reopen all schools next week

The Akwa Ibom State Government has announced a phased reopening of all schools in the State from Monday, September 21, 2020.

State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Ini Emem-Obong, made this known at the end of the State Executive Council meeting in Uyo, the state capital.

As Nigeria seems to be flattening the Covid-19 curve, Akwa Ibom is joining some states in Nigeria to reopen schools with a timetable of resumption of academic activities at all levels including tertiary institutions.

There was cheering news for residents and road users of the IBB Avenue which has suffered from persistent flooding over the years as work is to commence on the flood control project.

The State Executive Council also congratulated the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, Uwemedimo Nwoko, on his appointment as a life bencher by the Body of Benchers being the first Akwa Ibom Indigene to be so appointed.
