Media Officer of Rivers United quits position

Media Officer of Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt, Sammy Wejinya has resigned from his position.

Sammy Wejinya resigned his position on Tuesday 25th August 2020.

His resignation was made known to the media via a post on his Facebook page.

The veteran sports journalists in his resignation post thanked the Commissioner of Sports, Rivers State, Boma Iyaye and the General Manager of Rivers United Okey Kpalukwu for their support during his time with the club.

Good evening Rivers United family.

I wish to inform this great family that I have resigned from my position as Media Officer of Rivers United FC.

I want to thank my Boss, the Honourable Commissioner of Sports in Rivers State, Hon. Boma Iyaye for the great opportunity to serve this great club.

My huge thanks to the management led by Okey Kpalukwu and to the supporters Club led by Comrade Franklin Owhor.

I leave with great sadness as this is a club I love from the depth of my soul.

I will continue to support Rivers United FC and wish us well in the coming years.

God bless us all.
