Rivers Gov’t makes case for Fed Uni of Environmental Technology Tai

The Rivers State government has made a case for the establishment of the Federal University of Environmental Technology in Saakpenwa, Tai Local Government Area.

Commissioner for Education, Professor Kaniye Ebeku, presented a Memorandum on behalf of the Government of Rivers State government for the establishment on Monday, 20th July 2020.

The presentation was made before the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETfund at the National Assembly complex, Abuja.

The bill seeking to establish the Federal University of Environment Technology in oil-rich Ogoniland in Rivers State was initially sponsored by the immediate past senator representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Magnus Abe.

However, his successor, Barinada Mpigi re-sponsored the bill at the 9th senate.
