Rivers State Police Command has said Investigation is ongoing to unmask and arrest the killers of late Mr Godwin Njoku, a youth leader in Umuebule Community in Etche Local Government Area.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, who made this known during an interview with our correspondent Tina Amanda, said late Godwin Njoku who was an opinion leader was murdered by unknown assailants at his residence in Umuebule at about 3:30 am on 9 July 2020.

According to him, an arrest is yet to be made, as preliminary Investigation is ongoing to uncover his killers.

“Unknown assailants invaded the residence of late Godwin Njoku, shot and killed him. Before the Police could come, the gunmen took to flight. The matter was immediately reported to Umuebule Police station, as I speak we are still conducting intelligence investigation.

“The corpse has been deposited in the mortuary. No arrest so far has been made. We have clues that we are working on. The late man happens to be an opinion leader, so all hands are on deck to ensure his killers are arrested and made to face the law”

DSP Omoni also said that the command is still carrying out substantial investigation on the case of the notorious kidnapper and serial killer Anthony Ndubuisi, who was arrested in Umuebule for several killings.
