Pregnant women cry out after being denied access into OPM free hospital

As controversies over the closure of the Omega Power Ministries’ Free Hospital in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State continues to divide public opinions, some pregnant patients of the hospital who were to have an appointment with doctors have been blocked from gaining entrance into the facility.

The frustrated pregnant women were, however, asked by the hospital’s security to go to another hospital to access medical services.

One of them, Mrs Okechukwu Vivian who said she was due for delivery and was already booked for operation, expressed displeasure with the development.

Mrs Okechukwu who spoke in pidgin English said: ” As I hear the matter yesterday, e get as e dey do me.

“They book me today wey be Monday for operation but they say I no go fit undergo the operation again.

” My body get as e dey do me, my life dey for community hand.

“Any hospital wey you go now dey go collect money but here na free”

“The man no do bad thing. Na help him dey help you people”

“Wetin Apostle dey do no pastor fit do this kind thing” she said;

She called the people of Allu community to apologize to Apostle Chinyere and plead with him to reopen the hospital before she dies because she is in labour and does not have money to go to another hospital.

“I take God beg you people make una come settle the matter.”

The hospital which provides free medical services to women and children was shut down on Sunday following allegations by the founder of the hospital, Apostle Gift Chinyere that Aluu community imposed levies on the hospital.

The community, however, denied the allegation.
