NUPENG wants abducted oil workers in Rivers freed

The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, has urged security agencies to urgently secure the immediate and unconditional release of its members that were kidnapped on a production badge in Rivers State.

President of the Union, William Akporeha, at a media briefing in Lagos on Thursday said the workers were kidnapped by 4.30 am Thursday on Adas-OML off Bonny Waters.

The Union, while speaking on extortion if its members by security agents especially during the Covid-19 crisis, also issued a 2-week ultimatum to the Federal Government to commence total rehabilitation of roads so as to save lives and property on the highways.
