Police deny exhumation of late Rivers LGA chairman’s corpse


The Rivers State Police Command has denied reports that unknown gunmen exhumed the corpse of late chairman of Asari-Toru local government area, Odiari Princewill Christopher from Port Harcourt cemetery.

Nnamdi Omoni, the spokesperson of the command, who conducting Journalists round the Port Harcourt cemetery on Saturday described the reports as misleading and calculated attempt to put the command in bad light.

Princewill who died on Wednesday from covid-19 was interred at the cemetery on Thursday but natives of his hometown, Buguma, said he was buried like a rat and deserved something befitting his status.

Omoni, however urged the general public to discountenance the information.

He added that he brought Journalists to see for themselves that nothing of such happened.

DSP Omoni ,however, revealed that the command will improve security at the cemetery to forestall occurrence of any security breach at the place.
