Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning following an alleged incident with a woman at his west London home.
The 19-year-old was taken into custody and the woman, who called the police and an ambulance, was taken to hospital.
Hudson-Odoi was later released on bail.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed that an arrest had been made at Hudson-Odoi’s apartment after they were called there shortly before 4 am, The Independent reports.
“Police and London Ambulance Service were called at 03:53hrs on Sunday 17 May to a report of an unwell woman,” the Met said.
“A man was arrested at the scene. He was released from custody and bailed to return on a date in mid-June. Enquiries continue.”
When contacted, Chelsea declined to comment on the story.
Hudson-Odoi had made 17 Premier League appearances for Chelsea so far this season before the coronavirus pandemic halted the campaign.
He was one of the first Premier League footballers to test positive with coronavirus in March, the week before all games were suspended.
