Pictures: Police exhume corpses of 3 Uniport students killed and buried by kidnappers

The Anti- Kidnapping unit of Rivers State Police has arrested members of a kidnap gang who abducted, killed, raped and buried three students of the University of Port Harcourt in a shallow grave at Etoo in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers state. The police also exhumed the corpses of the three victims.

Friday Akpan, one of the suspects told newsmen that they kidnapped the victims identified as Joy Adoki, Nelson Nwafor and Fortune Obimba on the order of one Bright who told them the victims betrayed him after money was paid into the account of one of the victims.
The suspect said that they killed and buried the 3 victims after raping the female among them, Joy Adoki.

DSP Nnamdi Omoni, the public relations officer of the command disclosed that the Anti-Kidnapping unit led by its commander, Chief Superintendent of Police(CSP) Collins Edward Shadar swung into action after a case of kidnap of the three undergraduates was reported to the unit.

DSP Omoni explained that following discreet investigation and gallant effort of the unit led by CSP Shadar, the suspects were arrested and one of them led the Police to the place where the undergraduates were killed and buried.

Omoni further explained that one AK 47 rifle, one pistol, three magazines, 72 rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the suspects.
