Opposition members excluded from Wike’s palliatives – APC chieftain alleges

Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, on Wednesday, accused the Rivers State Palliative Committee headed by Ambassador Desmond Akawor of excluding members of the opposition party from the distribution of foodstuffs.

Eze described the palliative measures embarrassing, inadequate and not commensurate with the N2bn budgeted for the scheme.

He said the APC members were being excluded from the distribution of foodstuff.

He added that the development exposed the inability of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to address issues of critical importance like public welfare.

Eze insisted that the committee headed by Amb. Desmond Akawo, the newly elected PDP state Chairman was targeting mainly the PDP members.
