The lawmaker representing Cross River North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Rose Oko, has died.
The 63-year-old died on Monday night at a medical facility in the United Kingdom.
Until her death, she was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Trade and Investment.
She was also a former member of the House of Representatives.
The cause of her death has not been immediately ascertained.
