Breaking: Kano gets new Emir as Sanusi is banished

The Kano State Government has appointed Aminu Bayero as the new Emir of Kano.

This comes after the dethronement of Lamido Sanusi II earlier on Monday.

Usman Alhaji, the secretary to the government of the state announced the new Emir.

Mr Bayero is the son of late Emir Ado Bayero and was the emir of Bichi, one of the controversial new emirates created by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
