Edo 2020: Festival Torch to arrive Port Harcourt today

The Edo 2020 National Sports Festival Torch is expected to arrive Port Harcourt the Rivers State Capital today, Monday, 9th March 2020.

The newly sworn-in Commissioner for Sports in Rivers State Boma Iyaye gave this hint to newsmen in Port Harcourt.

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike is expected to receive the Festival Torch at the Government House Port Harcourt.

Boma Iyaye also directed Team Rivers to enter camp immediately to intensify their training ahead of the festival.

Boma Iyaye re-iterated the need for all hands to be on deck to ensure a good outing for Team Rivers despite starting camping slightly behind schedule.

It would be recalled that Team Rivers placed second position in Eko 2012 and Abuja 2018 respectively in the overall medal tables after coming first position in the 17th National Sports Festival tagged Garden City games in 201.

The Edo 2020 National Sports Festival is billed to hold from 20th March to 1st of April 2020 in Benin City the Edo State Capital.
