The news of the approval of Bashir Jamoh as the new director-general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has torn social media apart as Rivers Youths disagreed over the legacies of the outgoing DG, Dakuku Peterside.
Dakuku Peterside, a former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State was appointed in 2016 to head the maritime agency and his tenure ends on March 10, 2020. He will be replaced by Jamoh.
Some youths claim Peterside abandoned Rivers indigenes during his stay at NIMASA. Others argued otherwise.
When Joi Nuneh was removed from NDDC some Rivers people celebrated.
Now Dakuku Peterside has been removed from NIMASA Rivers people are again celebrating.— Marshal Obuzor (@ikwerre) March 5, 2020
Must he appoint a family member?
If we are honest with ourselves in this country the right thing to do was to extend his tenure, Dakuku Peterside did wonders in NIMASA and that's a fact.— onyema charles (@0Onyema) March 5, 2020
My sister that works in NIMASA predicted this The Buhari connection is working.
Dakuku lobbied but failed 😥Meanwhile, why wasn't Dakuku Peterside's tenure renewed?
The Lion of Ubima can no longer match them dollar for dollar?

Dakuku Peterside did absolutely fantastic at NIMASA, he worked tirelessly, I thought Buhari knows what he is doing, everyone is seeing nepotism in play and to he honest no one will blame them.

The only issue some angry rivers state indigenes have with Dakuku Peterside is the fact that he didn't share money, he is a shrewd administrator, the best at what he does.
