Police arrest 17 sex workers, clients in Port Harcourt

Operatives from the Rivers State Police Command have arrested seventeen sex workers and fifteen male clients during a night raid in Port Harcourt.

The officers were said to be attached to ‘Operation Sting’ unit of the command.

They stormed a popular brothel at 49 Ojoto street in Mile 2 Diobu Port Harcourt around 10 pm, sources say.

They said the girls who were in work-ready mood were loaded into police trucks and driven away together with their clients.

The reason for the arrest was not immediately clear but there were claims that criminal elements used to hide in the area.

As at the time of filing this report, the police command has not issued a statement to that regard.

Nnamdi Omoni, the command’s public relations officers declined to comment on the matter.
