Gunmen kill four in Rivers community

At least four persons were shot dead while eight others sustained several degrees of bullets wounds when unknown gunmen attacked communities in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.

It was gathered that the gunmen first invaded Igbodo Etche on Monday and shot three persons killing one.

The gunmen later proceeded to Amaku-Mba community, where one out of four persons shot was confirmed dead.

Community sources said the gunmen later raided Agbalu village in Okehi and shot five persons, killing one on the spot.

Nnamdi Omoni, the spokesman of the Rivers State police command said the killings in different communities in Etche LGA was carried out by rival cult gangs.

Omoni said officers and men of the command had been deployed to calm the situation.
