Chief Magistrate, John Enyindah, after due consideration of arguments of Counsels in the matter, granted the Defendant bail in the sum of one hundred thousand naira with bail conditions as follows; a surety who has landed property, the passport of the surety and that of Defendant to be deposited in court.

Prosecution Counsel Kenneth Osisi and Counsel to FIDA Nnenna Igbokwe, brought to the notice of court the safety of the little girl in question while asking the court to give an order for the girl to be taking away from the custody of the stepmother.

Chief Magistrate Enyindah declined with reasons that he has no power to give the order on the child’s custody while asking them to go to a juvenile court for such orders and adjourned the case to 3rd of February for trials.

Earlier, there was drama inside the courtroom as the defendant almost fainted as he tried to fall off his seat.

The Magistrate observed in court that the Defendant has grown so lean within a space of one week in prison.
