A man said to be the Chief Priest of Rumuji Community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State and a young man identified as Marshall, have been killed in a reprisal attack by suspected cultists in the area.

The community’s Chief Priest simply identified as Ewuyeozi, was murdered barely 24 hours after three members of Odegu Security and Advisory Planning Committee, OSPAC, and a motorcycle rider were beheaded by suspected cultists on Monday morning.

Reports say the murdered Chief Priest allegedly sponsored his son, who was among the masterminds of the killing of three members of OSPAC in Rumuodogo community while Marshall was said to be the informant of the cultists.

Locals sources said some individuals invaded the home of the chief priest after corpses of the OSPAC members were returned to their camp in Rumuji and killed the duo.

OSPAC had earlier said in an interview that the hoodlums are regrouping in order to resume kidnapping activities along the East-West Road.

The Rivers State Police Command is yet to issue a statement on the renewed killings in the area.
