Unknown gunmen on Monday abducted about seven persons at Ibu community, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The victims were kidnapped on a farm road in the community and subsequently moved into the forest while their whereabouts have remained unknown.
It was gathered that the kidnappers shot sporadically to avert any form of challenge.
Also, the identity of the victims is not yet known as at the time of filling this reports but locals say they there were six elderly women and a fisherman among the kidnapped.

Emeka Agbarie, Secretary of ONELGA Security Planning and Advisory Committee, OSPAC, confirmed the abduction.
He said the gunmen shot sporadically in the air before moving the victims into their den, adding that the vigilante group is already combing the farmlands and forests in order to rescue the victims.
But Nnamdi Omoni, Police spokesman of the Rivers State Police Command said he had not been given details of the abduction.
