Local vigilante group hands over suspect, gun to police

AKPOR-OSPAC, a local vigilante group in Rumukeni community, Obio/Akpor local Government area of Rivers State has handed over a suspect in possession of automatic pistol to the police.

The pistol with the inscription CZ 999 scorpion was together with the suspect, handed over to the Choba Divisional Police headquarters.

The suspect who was said to be residing in the community was arrested on Saturday following intelligent security report.

Locals said that the suspect whose name was not given, was part of a gang responsible for insecurity the area.

Nnamdi Omoni, the Rivers State Police Command’s Spokesman did not immediately respond to enquiries for comments.
