The publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, has been released by the Department of State Security.
The Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, said the government of General Muhammadu Buhari decided to obey court orders and release political prisoners.
But sources said the government was forced to release Sowore and former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki due to international pressure.
Dasuki had been detained for over four years despite several court orders for his release.
Buhari’s government is hoping to borrow $30 billion from international lenders when the Senate approves.
“The only thing is to Thank Nigerians; they made this happen; they should not relent…Nobody can take a people who are determined for granted.” -Sowore said after his release.
