By Brave Dickson

The immediate past First Lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan has received an award by the Coalition of PDP Support Groups in Rivers State.

The state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bro Felix Obuah also received an award with other dignitaries when the coalition held its 2019 end of year party in Port Harcourt on Sunday.

In his Opening Remarks, the chairman of the coalition, Hon. Edwin Ibanichuka (JP) said: “In the last general elections, we worked tirelessly for the victory of PDP here in Rivers State.

“Some of our members lost their lives, while some sustained various injuries but we do know that in politics, there is no permanent enemy.

“Most of us are graduates of different fields who have decided to come together to have a formidable structure in the 23 local government areas of the state.

“Since we have worked, by the special grace of God, we will all be rewarded politically.

“As we are entering into the year 2020, we will interface with our governor to tell him that we have worked and that he should please reward us.

“The reward may not only be by appointments but can also come through contracts.

“It will interest you to know that the immediate past First Lady of the country, Dame Patience Jonathan has recognized this group and she is very happy with us.”

On the sideline, one of the patrons of the coalition, Bishop (Dr) Patrick Usani told our correspondent that with the strength of unity he could see being exhibited by members, the group would achieve greater things.

The cleric said: “I can tell you that this coalition will get to a very great height.

“All we need is to be united and since heaven is backing us, the sky is not our limit because we will go beyond it.

“So, I’m believing that unity will make us achieve great and positive things for these states and Nigeria.”
