Amanyanabo football Tournament in Bonny to kick-off on Nov 23

The 2019 Amanyanabo Football Tournament will kick-off on Saturday, November 23 in Bonny Island.

The tournament is in honour of the His Royal Majesty King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, CON, JP, Perekule XI, Amanyanabo And Natural Ruler Grand Bonny Kingdom.

Young Strikers and Shinning Stars FC will square up in the opening game at the Bonny Government School playground Bonny Island by 1 pm.

16 teams in Bonny Island will participate in the competition which will be played in a knock-out format.

The 16 teams are divided into four groups each with four teams.

The groups include Group A: Young Strikers, Eagles Strikers, Shining Stars and Lions Stars.

Group B: Igbo Brothers, Pivot-GIS FC, Atlantic FC, and Beautiful Strikers

Group C: Rangers FC, Royal Crown, Flash Flamingoes, and Golden Stars

Group D: Divine FC, Oil and Gas FC, Butchers FC and Adventural FC

The winners of the competition will go home with the sum of three million naira, while the first runner-up will take two million naira as the second runner-up will win one million naira.

The organizers of the tournament, Graftons Entertainment said players will also gain international exposure as football scouts and the media will be present at the tournament.

The tournament is sponsored by Nigeria LNG Limited and it’s scheduled to hold from November 23rd to 7th December 2019.
