Ugochukwu Iwuchukwu

The Rivers United FC Supporters Club says it will work with the Marketing Department of the team to fashion out ways to market the football club to Port Harcourt fans.

The Chairman of Rivers United FC Supporters Club, Franklin Owhor, stated this after his re-election in Port Harcourt.

Franklin Owhor said the move is aimed at mobilizing massive support for the team in Rivers State.

He stated that football fans play a vital role in sustaining the visibility of clubs around the world and said the supporters club are working hard to make sure that Rivers United is acceptable across the nation.

Franklin Owhor also said the club will look for ways to source for funds to carry out its activities instead of depending on the government for subventions.

He noted that the Supporters Club will not achieve much if they depend on the government for financial assistance.

Franklin Owhor also appealed to Port Harcourt football fans to come out en-masse to support the team to victory during the match-day two game of NPFL against Heartland on Sunday, Nov 10 at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium.

He opined that Rivers United is now playing attractive football that will entice Port Harcourt football fans to love the team.

You would recall that Rivers United FC played out a goalless draw in their match-day one of the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL against Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
