Supreme Court Ruling: Only God can save Nigeria from Buhari, APC —Secondus

Prince Uche Secondus, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, says final judgement comes from God almighty.

Secondus was reacting to the ruling of the Supreme Court which affirmed Buhari’s re-election.

A seven-man panel of the court, led by Justice Tanko Ibrahim Mohammed, dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, challenging the victory of Buhari at the presidential election.

The panel in a unanimous judgement said there is no merit in the appeal.

The CJN added that the panel has been reviewing the case for the past two weeks.

He said that reasons for the dismissal of the appeals will be given in a later date.

Atiku and PDP on September 24 filed an appeal against the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, PEPT, at the Supreme Court.

PEPT had on September 11, dismissed the petition filed by Atiku and the PDP in its entirety, adding that the petitioners could not prove that President Buhari was not elected by popular votes.

The PDP chair said Nigeria is in such an untidy state that only God can bail it out.

He urged Nigerians to remain resolute in their prayers to God, adding that the country is in such an untidy state that only God can bail her out.

He said, “We thank you for your support for PDP, for your commitment to democracy. Nigerians know that you voted PDP, even APC knows that you rejected them on February 23, 2019, the international community knows you voted for PDP if Supreme Court of seven justices says otherwise, leave it to God the ultimate Judge.”
