The Governorship candidate of African Action Congress in Rivers State, AWARA BIOKPOMABO, has closed his case with twenty witnesses in the petition he filed before the Election Petition Tribunal, challenging the Victory of Governor Nyesom Wike in the March 9th gubernatorial election.
Testifying before the tribunal, AWARA BIOKPOMABO maintained that he was not defeated in the March 9th governorship election in the state.
His statement came after Emma Ukala, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, and Counsel to Governor Nyesom Wike put it to him that he was roundly defeated by Wike.
Counsel to the 2nd Respondent also put it to the petitioner that the result sheets he tendered before the tribunal which he said was collated from 11 local governments have no signature, name or stamps of agents to prove they are certified true copies.
The panel led by Justice KINGSLEY OJIAKOR adjourned to 16th of September for 2nd petitioner to open his case.
Speaking to our reporter Tina Amanda, Counsel to the 1st petitioner said they had done their part, adding that the final decision lies on the tribunal.
Also DIKE UDENNA, one of the Counsels to the 2nd Respondent, Governor Nyesom Wike, said the witness was confronted with documents he tendered before the tribunal to ascertain if they were certified true copies from INEC.
