Breaking: Court halts upcoming APC Congresses in Rivers State

A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has barred the All Progressives Congress from conducting the scheduled Congresses of the party.

The court papers obtained by theportcitynews.com also asked the party to return to status quo.

The immediate past Senator representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District in the National Assembly and other aggrieved members of the party had disagreed with the composition of the 5-member Caretaker Committee set up by the National Working Committee of the party to oversee the party’s Congresses in Rivers State.

Abe and his loyalists had said that members of committee were people loyal to the minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

They added that the party had refused to settle the issues which led to the party being disqualified from the 2019 general elections in the state.

Details later.
