AAC suit against Wike back at Tribunal, pre-trial hearing adjourned

The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Port Harcourt has adjourned for pre-hearing session in a petition filed by the Governorship candidate of the Africa Action Congress in Rivers State, IBIOKPOMABO AWARA, against the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Governor Nyesom Wike and INEC.

The AAC candidate is challenging the victory of Governor NYESOM WIKE in the March 9th election gubernatorial election.

The parties had returned to the tribunal after the judgement of appeal court last week ordered that the matter should be brought back to the tribunal for the case to be heard on merit.

During the proceeding, the three-man Tribunal led by Justice KINGSLEY OJIAKOR drew the attention of all the parties in the matter on a petition requesting for reconstitution of the tribunal, of which the Counsels to AAC and its candidate confirmed filling and receiving the processes.

Justice KINGSLEY OJIAKOR also ordered that all responses and filing be done within one day, while Counsels are considering adoption of address by the Witnesses due to time factor.

The court adjourned to 7th September for reply and argument on a motion filed by counsel to AAC, HENRY BELLO seeking to strike out some paragraphs contained in the election petition.
