The President of Nigerian Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has said that the Ninth National Assembly would give maximum support to the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, weeks after denying he was not a stooge of the president.
Lawan noted that the supports would help the executive to achieve a better, prosperous and secured country for the good of the citizens.
He said in a statement on Wednesday that although there are pockets of opposition from other sides, he assured that they wouldn’t fail the President.
According to him: “There is a cordial relationship along party lines and that senators are ready to work for the progress of Nigerians and Nigeria.
“In the current Senate, I have the full cooperation of the senators from the opposition parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), because of the tremendous love and trust shown to us by President Buhari,” the statement quoted Lawan as saying.
