Samuel Nwanosike, the Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, on Thursday, flagged off a 500-capacity ultra-modern civic centre in Omagwa Community.
He said his administration has resolved to kick-start thirteen projects in Ikwerre Local Government which will kick-off from Omagwa Community’.
Nwanosike also disclosed that Aluu Community would be the next place to flag off a project next week.
He added that other communities like Igwuruta, Isiokpo, Elele, Omerelu, Apani, Ubima, Omuanwa, Ozuaha Omademe and Ipo would follow suit accordingly.
He noted that he and his team would not just construct projects in all the 13 Wards of the LGA, but also make sure that they give the Council a befitting Secretariat before their tenure elapsed.
He explained that all the projects would run concurrently.
“In addition to the projects in all the 13 Wards, we will make sure that before our remaining 21 months in office is finished we will give Ikwerre Local Government a befitting Secretariat for her workers'”
He revealed that the Council has already saved funds for the projects and will make sure they are completed on time.
The LGA boss also said that the Community Secondary School, Omagwa, which Ikwerre Local Government Council is rehabilitating its ten classroom blocks, is almost complete and will be handed over to the school authority before the resumption of schools in 9th September 2019.
