NSCDC officer kills 100 level NDU student

A 100 level student in the department of Petrochemical Engineering, Niger Delta University (NDU) Obinna Onyeukwu was reportedly shot dead on Saturday night by a Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps officer.

The incident, theportcitynews gathered, occurred at about 10:30PM in Amasoma town in Bayelsa state.

When contacted the spokesperson of the Bayelsa state Police command, SP Butswat Asinim declined comment. He however, directed urged our correspondent to contact NSCDC for comments.

The NSCDC official who shot the student is said to be attached to a Stalwart of APC in the state. He has been detained by the Police in Amasoma community.

Meanwhile the spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) in Bayelsa state, Harcourt Johnson said investigation has commenced to ascertain the true position of things.
