As insecurity continues to thrive in Rivers State, the Chairman of Degema Local Government Council, Tony Philmoore, has assured the people of Tombia that soldiers and policemen would be deployed to the community this week to bolster security in the area.
Philmoore, speaking during a stakeholders meeting involving chiefs and youths from Tombia, advised the chiefs to warn parents to rein in their unruly children and wards as it was not going to be business as usual.
He said his council had secured approval from the police authority to build a police station and adjoining residential apartments for men and officers of the force, and requested land from the chiefs to commence the project.
He said government is willing to embrace all repentant outlaws and give them a new lease of life by empowering them to have quality education and skills for economic advancement and self development.
He added that his administration would pay fees of all Delga students in public post primary institutions to ease the pressure on their sponsors.
The council boss further promised to synergize with councillors from Tombia to agree on a befitting project that would be executed in the community.
