Feelers reaching TPCN has revealed that the late oil and gas business mogul and owner of Nigeria’s first indigenous oil production company, Moni Pulo Ltd, High Chief O.B. Lulu-Briggs, entrusted all his wealth to his wife of over twenty years, Pastor Mrs Seinye O.B. Lulu-Biggs.

Feelers emanating from the family disclosed that this was made known when the last Will of the late Abonnema-born High Chief was read last week at the High Court Chief Registrar’s office in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital, by the late man’s lawyers in the midst of some family members of the O.B. Lulu-Biggs family.

According to the feelers, Chief Dumo Lulu Briggs had allegedly made several efforts to stop the reading of the Will and at some point went to a Court in Omoku to file an injunction restraining the lawyers of his late father and any Court from reading the Will.

But TPCN gathered that Dumo, a governorship candidate of the Accord Party in the last general elections in Rivers State, did not succeed in his plan due to a counter argument citing the insecurity of the place, distance and other factors, which made the case to be struck out and transferred to Port Harcourt.

According to feelers, when the Will was finally read, it was discovered that the late High Chief O.B. Lulu-Briggs had entrusted all his companies to his wife, to be managed under a Trust Company whose officers would be headed by a few people to be headed by his wife.

We gathered that apart from his wife, the Trust Holding Company will also have a former governor of one of the South-South States as an executive member.

Also, TPCN gathered that High Chief O.B. Lulu-Briggs did not include any of his older sons as beneficiaries of his wealth but included their children – his grand children- as beneficiaries.

A part of the Will, TPCN gathered, reads: “…I wish to be buried and for my wife Seinye Lulu-Briggs, if she survives me, to take active part in my funeral services…

“For the reasons specified in a letter I have executed on the date of this Will, I have not made any provision in this Will for my sons, Dumo, Senibo or Sofiri…

“I will establish a trust in Nigeria…and for the purpose procure the incorporation of a holding trust company (ies) in Nigeria… The executive trustee and director of the trust holding company (ies) will be Seinye while the other trustees of the trust and directors will work in a non-executive capacity…”

TPCN however gathered that the older sons of High Chief O.B. Lulu-Briggs, who are still contesting the outcome of the autopsy conducted in Ghana which showed that their father died of natural causes, are not happy about the Will and are also planning to challenge its authenticity, suspecting that there could have been foul play.

Efforts to reach any of them for reactions before filing in this report was not fruitful.

Also, efforts to reach High Chief O.B. Lulu-Briggs’ wife and widow, Mrs Seinye Lulu-Briggs to get her reactions before publishing this report proved abortive as she was said not to be in Port Harcourt.
