The vice chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Mrs Uche Ken Ndukwu, has rejected an official car gift from the council boss, Hon. Obinna Elvis Anyanwu, over what she described as “the low standard of the car” upon examination by a card dealer and a motor mechanic.
This is as sources say there has been feud between the vice chairman and the council boss in the last four months.
A source who pleaded anonymity told our correspondent that the rift may not be unconnected to the factional political battle going on in the council.
Furthermore, the media aid to the vice chairman, Mr. Achonwa Hope informed our correspondent that the car has been handed over to the DPO of Okehi Divisional, Mr. Buba Hamuel.
The vice chairman also apologized to the general public for the inconveniences the rejection may have caused.
