Ogoni Youths flare Togba over comments on late Gberegbe.

The Ogoni Youth Federation (OYF) has said that the convener of the Conscience of Ogoni People, Chief Gani U. Topba, does not have the right to speak for Ogoni people.

The youth body was reacting to a statement made by Togba recently in connection with the painful death of Dr. Ferry Gberegbe.

Togba had during a press briefing alleged that the Rivers State Government poisoned Ferry Gberegbe.

But in a press statement issued in port Harcourt on Friday 2nd August 2019 by Ogoni Youth Federation, the President-General of OYF, Comrade Comrade-Legborsi Sunday Yamaaban, disclosed that the matter in connection with the killing of Dr. Ferry Gberegbe, a prominent son of Ogoniland is in court, and a matter in court cannot be addressed in the public domain, because it amount to subjudice and contempt of court.

The statement disclosed that Gani Topba does not have the authority to speak for Ogoni people and should henceforth desist from using the name of Ogoni to satisfy the whims and caprices of his paymasters and sponsors.

The statement also warned Gani to stop using the name of the late Ogoni Hero, Ken Saro-Wiwa in confronting the Rivers State Government or any group because the aim is to attract undeserved sympathy.

Gani Topba was also given seven (7) days ultimatum to apologize to the family of Dr. Ferry Gberegbe and Ogoni people or risk legal action from Ogoni Youths
