The Rivers State Police Command has averted what would have resulted into a deep clash between the Chairman of Port Harcourt Local government Council and one Mr Prince Amatari, over a state facility under construction.
Our correspondent gathered that the clash was as a result of who is to be in charge of security for a library under construction at Ihediohiama in Diobu axis Port Harcourt.
Explaining his ordeal, Amatari said the place was handed over to him by the contractor in charge of the building to take care of.
He said that the development did not go down well with the Chairman of PHALGA, Victor Ihunwo, who is trying to replace him with someone under his directives.
He stressed that the library project was started by the international community for Rivers State during the administration of former governor, Rotimi Amaechi, but was later abandoned, adding that the present administration of Governor Nyesom Wike continued the project to the present level it is now.
PRINCE AMATARI said he decided to report the matter to security agencies following several threats to his life by the Council chairman who has severally warned him to stay clear of the property.
He lamented further that his life and that of his family are no longer save.
Victor Ihunwo declined to comment on the matter when contacted by our correspondent.
Meanwhile, the police have stepped into to find a solution to the problem
