Another rival cult groups terrorising Obelle community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State have signed a peace accord to end killings and other forms of hostilities in the area.

This comes days after another rival cult groups in Ibaa in the same local government area signed a peace accord which signalled the end to the years-long killings in the community.

In Obelle, members of Iceland and Deygbam cult groups signed an accord to end hostilities in the area

The peace accord was initiated by former Commissioner for Housing in Rivers State, Chinedu Tasie Nwobueze.

They afterwards promised to work towards the development of the community.

Elated community members who spoke to Theportcitynews correspondent, said that they were optimistic that the peace accord will endear lasting peace in the community.

According to them, the killings and Kidnapping in the area had stunted development while indigenes relocated to other places out of fear.

They, however, appealed to the government to employ the repentant cultists to ensure they do not go back to their old ways.

The peace accord was signed in the presences of security agencies.
