This is Blessing Ugonma Owhonda, the best graduating student of the Rivers State University at the 31st Convocation ceremony of the institution.
Blessing Owhondah graduated with a CGPA of 4.81 from the Faculty of Law. She is from Rivers State.
Blessing Owhondah while delivering her valedictory speech after receiving the award of the best graduating student during the convocation ceremony attributed her success to God, hard work, commitment, and dedication to her studies.
She also commended her lecturers, friends and her mother for their guidance throughout her stay at the Rivers State University.
She advised other undergraduates students to take their studies seriously and avoid unnecessary distractions on the campus.
“And in view of that goal of becoming the best graduating student, hard work, perseverance, determination, study, attendance to and participation in class as well as respect for my lecturers became my watchword and has made me stand out today.
“Above all, I will not fail to acknowledge the fact that my service to God and participation in Christian activities on campus particularly Christ Ambassadors Students Outreach CASOR and Joint Christian Campus Fellowship JCCF was the bedrock of my today’s success story.
“My greatest source of inspiration has always been my irreplaceable mother and siblings who made selfless sacrifices to ensure that I am what I am today so I am very delighted to make them proud.
“As those who will fight for the larger society, the world is waiting for our manifestation and to get the best from us. We must not forget that the larger society we are heading into is filled with ups and downs. Therefore we must not give up in striving to succeed as the champions we are.
“I believe that with resilience, commitment, focus, and hard work we shall get to the top” she said.
