Rivers United vow to shine in 2019 Aiteo Cup.

The management of Rivers United FC have sent a congratulatory message to the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike on his successful inauguration for a second term in office.

The club which crashed out in the group stage of the 2018 Aiteo Cup, however, promised to make the state proud in the 2019 edition.

Speaking on behalf of the club, General Manager of Rivers United FC, Chief Dr. Okey Kpalukwu noted that Gov. Wike has been a great pillar of the club.

“I want to, on behalf of the Rivers United family, expressly congratulate Gov Wike on his successful inauguration and also extend our gratitude for the massive support the club consistently received from the Rivers State government,” Chief Kpalukwu stated.

“I want to assure that Rivers United will continue to strive for excellence in all spheres in the drive to put smiles on the faces of all Rivers men and women.

” I also want to use this medium to thank the Honourable Commissioner of Sports, Hon. Boma Iyaye for his unique style of leadership which has positively rubbed off, not just on Rivers United, but on sports in general in the state.

“We thank the supporters club ably led by Comrade Franklin Owhor and all fans of Rivers United FC who have stood by us through thick and thin.

“We assure them that we will put in maximum effort in the upcoming AITEO Cup as we strive to make Rivers State proud,” he said.
